Community Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to support both yourself and the camp. It not only saves you money on your ticket but also offers you a grounding structure throughout the camp. You quickly feel part of the camp and is an easy way to make new friends, especially if you’re coming by yourself.

We are offering a few roles with money off your ticket for your level of involvement.

An adult ticket costs £165

Cleaning Volunteers

As a member of our Cleaning Crew, you will rotate daily between the three cleaning roles, never having the same shift twice in a row, covering: 

Workshop Space Cleaning

  • Clean & clear workshop spaces of rubbish and forgotten items.

  • Brush/sweep off the carpet

Bathroom Cleaning:

  • Cleaning and restocking the showers & toilets

  • Clean hand washing / teeth brushing stations

Community Kitchen Cleaning:

  • Clean & Reorganise surfaces and tea and coffee station.

  • Clean/clearing washing up areas (not doing the washing up)

  • Sweep the carpet in the community kitchen

Working 30-minutes a day for the 4 days of camp, we are offering an £85 discount bringing the ticket cost to £80

Shifts are scheduled during breaks so you won’t miss out on any workshops or activities.

The main requirement for this role is having a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organisation and keeping an eye for detail in all roles

Arrivals Volunteers

Be the person to make things easy when someone arrives on site. Often a journey can be tiring or stressful and it is not uncommon for some people to feel a degree of anxiety when arriving in an unknown place. Your role is to help soften this experience so our participants can find what they need to land well and settle in.

Working in small teams, the role includes:

  • Welcoming New Arrivals

  • Collecting Registration Info

  • Site Navigation

Working 2 x 3.5hrs shifts, one on Wednesday & one on either Thursday or Friday. (10am-1.30pm | 1.30-5pm | 5pm - 8.30pm)

We are offering a £80 discount for the 2 shifts. Brining the ticket down to £85

You will also be able to choose your preferred shifts.

The main requirement of this role is that you have good people, explanation and navigation skills.

You also need to be able to arrive at 5pm on Tuesday 30th July (the day before the camp starts).

Site Crew

We are looking for site crew who are reliable, strong in character, physically strong and able to follow practical instructions to help set-up, maintain and pack down the camp.

We prefer that you have been to one of the Emerging Hearts CI Camps or Retreats before, but it is not essential.

The role involves setting up, helping maintain and packing down come rain or shine:

  • marquee’s

  • kitchen

  • site infrastructure

  • site decor

You'll need to be on-site for all the set-up and pack-down dates:

  • Arrival: Monday 3rd August 10am - 12pm

  • Set-Up: Monday 3rd to Wednesday 5th August

  • Main Camp: Wednesday 5th to Monday 10th August

  • Pack Down: Monday 10th to Wednesday 12th August

In exchange for the full set up and pack down time, a full free ticket to the camp. Which includes all the workshops, evening meals, camping (bring your own tent), sauna and wild swimming lake.

We will also feed you breakfast, lunch and dinner during set up and pack down.

The main requirement of these roles is that you are reliable, strong in character, mind and body, and able to follow practical instructions.

Care, Wellbeing & First Aid Volunteers

If you're passionate about and experienced in providing support to others in both physical and emotional capacities, we invite you to apply for this role.

You will play a key role in ensuring the well-being of our participants throughout the event.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering support and comfort to individuals as needed

  • Assisting with issues that may arise, offering a listening ear and connecting individuals with appropriate resources.

  • Helping participants with practical matters such as staying warm at night, self-care practices, and ensuring they have necessary supplies.

  • If first aid trained, offering assistance for physical injuries, including minor wounds and tick removal.

Shifts and Exchange

The role is fairly informal and we simply ask that you can be available throughout the day as part of a small teams if needed.  The role is generally fairly simple and not in much demand.

There will be a meeting on Wednesday for the team to meet.

We are offering £80 off for this role bringing the ticket down to £85.
