The Open Programme

One of the things that makes FreeSpirit Camp unique is that the programme is created by the community itself.

Alongside a handful of planned activities, much of what happens at camp emerges from the people who are there, their passions, skills, interests and inspirations. This creates a rich, diverse and ever-changing programme that reflects the unique mix of people who gather each year.

Every morning, we come together as a community to connect, share announcements and shape the day ahead. This daily gathering helps create the flow of camp and provides a space for people to offer activities, ask for support, gather helpers, or invite others into something they feel inspired to share.

You don't need to be a professional teacher or workshop leader to contribute. Some of the most memorable moments at camp come from simple offerings: a game in the field, songs around the fire, a nature walk, a craft activity, a conversation circle, a storytelling session or a spontaneous dance gathering.

We welcome all kinds of contributions, including:

• Creative workshops and crafts
• Music, singing and drumming
• Movement, dance and yoga
• Wellbeing, healing and meditation
• Nature connection and outdoor skills
• Talks, discussions and skill sharing
• Children's activities and family games
• Community building activities
• Evening entertainment, fireside stories and celebrations

If you already know you'd like to offer something, we'd love to hear from you before the camp. Some larger workshops and activities can be included in the programme in advance, and in certain circumstances, we may be able to offer a reduced ticket as part of a volunteer exchange.

You are equally welcome to arrive at camp with an idea that emerges in the moment. Throughout the gathering, anyone can speak with the Programme Coordinator to add an activity to the schedule.

Our aim is to create an environment where everyone feels empowered to share their gifts, however simple or experienced they may be. By contributing what we love, we help create the vibrant, creative and supportive community experience that FreeSpirit Camp is known for.

If you'd like to offer something, either before or during the camp, we'd love to hear from you.
